Where is that font?

By Adrian. Posted in Computers, Misc | No Comments »

Ever tried to copy a font but when you open the Fonts folder in the Windows directory it cannot be found?  Martin, a colleague at work showed me how to get around this.

Go to your registry editor, Start>Run>Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

In this subcategory of the registry it will show you all the fonts names next to the actual file name, so now when you got to the Fonts folder you know what font to copy.  This also works for custom fonts as sometimes they are called random names like ORT_cub.tff (the original font named was Agfa… so I would have had no chance finding it!)

Angry face

How many query’s are you requesting when loading a page on WordPress or any their website with PHP and SQL behind the scenes, do you know?  Well this great little bit of code I have come across will tell you!  simply place the code into the area you would like the result to be displayed, hit refresh and there ya go!

<?php echo get_num_queries(); ?> queries in <?php timer_stop(1); ?>  seconds.

At the Billing show we picked up some tree/rock sliders, wheels and tyres aswell as a winch front bumper. As the wheels where off we decided to change the front pads as we had them already lying around. Take a look at the kit being fitted, click more below

Billing 2010

By Adrian. Posted in Car Events | No Comments »

Today we went to the Billing show , It was the second time we had been to the 4×4 show up north, last year we just looked around but this year I had a list!  We knew we were gettings wheels and tyres and we had a budget set, Goodrich was our fist stop as it’s right inside the entrance we go on, we picked out a couple that looked good and had good reviews but the ones i really wanted were out of our budget.  On the way back to the car after picking up some bits and bobs dad noticed a wheels and tyres tent so we popped in and had a look, dads keen eyes spotted a stack of 5 Goodrich All-Terrain tyres on black modular rims priced at £450, ok, it turns out the tyres werent new but decided it was worth it (dad used to work in a tyre garage when he was in uni and worked out they had only done about 1500-2K miles. In the end we got  them all for £425 and I was chuffed, black rims and the top tyres I wanted.
